3. Data Storage and Security Measures

Contracts for order processing exist with external service providers (e.g. hosting, maintenance and support), who are given access to personal data on this website on behalf of the HZDR. The legal basis for data storage is Article 28 f GDPR (legitimate interest). Combining this information with other user data does not occur. We use SSL encryption as standard for the encrypted transmission of personal data.

4. Data Processing

Protocols and Log Files

For the purpose of ensuring a secure and stable website, personal, technical data from your internet browser is logged by us or by our hosting provider. Among other things, Type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you switched to our website (referrer URL), the page(s) of our website that you visit, the date and time of the respective access and the IP address of the Internet connection from which our website is used. This data is stored in so-called server log files based on our legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1 f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website. The log files will be deleted after 7 days unless further storage is required for evidence purposes. Otherwise, all or part of the data will be excluded from deletion until an incident has been finally clarified.

We embed videos from various platforms on our website. Initially, there is no transmission of personal data to the service providers mentioned below. Personal data (e.g. IP addresses or browser-related information) is only transmitted to make the video available by activating the respective content with a click. This is always based on your consent in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1 f GDPR (legitimate interest). Furthermore, the content is always embedded in such a way that the setting of cookies by the service provider is technically prevented in advance. Based on your consent according to Article 6, Paragraph 1 f GDPR (legitimate interest) we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"). For this purpose, a contract for order processing was concluded with Google in accordance with Article 28 GDPR. The cookies set by Google Analytics process usage data (e.g. visited websites, access times) as well as communication data (e.g. IP addresses, device information) on our behalf in order to evaluate the use of our online offer and to compile reports on the activities within our online offer as well as to provide other services related to the use of our online offer. It is also possible to create pseudonymised user profiles.

Google Analytics is used exclusively by means of IP anonymisation. All processed personal data will be deleted after 14 months or completely anonymised. Use of Google Maps

For the purpose of electronic and encrypted contact, we provide you with a contact form on our website. Alternatively, you can contact us using the contact details provided in the legal notice. If you want to use this, we collect and process the data you have entered.

For the purpose of regularly informing our visitors, it is possible to subscribe to a free newsletter on our website. The content relates exclusively to your interests in our topics. Registration is on a voluntary basis, i.e. within the scope of your consent in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1 a GDPR (legitimate interest). We only need your email address to register. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email from us. We hereby ensure that the email address you provided is correct and belongs to you. By specifying your email address and confirming the link in the confirmation email (so-called double opt-in), you consent to the fact that we use this to send our newsletter in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1 a GDPR (legitimate interest). Based on the previous case law, the following data will be logged to prove your registration:

We use a service provider to send the newsletter. You can withdraw your consent for the future at any time by unsubscribing. Please use the unsubscribe link, which you will find at the end of each newsletter. The newsletter data stored about you will then be deleted immediately and you will not receive any further newsletters.

8. Registration

On our website we offer the option of registerring for the internal area of recomine by entering an input mask. Registration is only on a voluntary basis, i.e. within the scope of your consent in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 1 a GDPR (legitimate interest). For registration, we need the following information: title, name, email address. You can change the data at any time in your profile. The data will not be passed on to third parties.

Of course, you have the possibility to withdraw your consent for the future at any time by using account deletion function via your account. The data stored about you will then be deleted immediately. Please note that use of the internal area is no longer possible in this case.

9. Links to External Offers

We use links to external websites and social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube). The integration takes place in such a way that when you visit our website, no data is transmitted to the providers of the external offers. If you click on the respective link or button, you will be taken directly to the external offer.
